I second that. I have a friend who is a Mom. She had two girls and was actively pursuing her Master's degree. She took a short time off to have a third child, then got back on the wagon. Education is finally meeting the needs of everyone, and in real time!

I loved the article! Education will surely undergo a revolution in the next years! And it's up to us (i.e. 'the people') to make the best out of what is offered to us by the new technologies!

As for the photo... I think it's from a big sports event... a hockey game maybe? (people wear warm clothes so I suppose there's gotta be some ice nearby...)

I knew what sport it was...but I didn't guess correctly which location - then I cheated, so hopefully someone else figures it out :) I'm not a fan of this sport. If it was baseball, on the other hand...

"Lectures could historically only be heard at the time and place of the lecture. Now we can watch a video recording of a lecture over the web. A tutor had to be in the same place to look at the work of a student and provide feedback. . . ." Now I can help clients and students from my home office without driving many miles every week.

Talk about reducing the carbon footprint! Yes, Web services and the social Web are transforming not only education but also the environment.

All very exciting, as is the wonderful eduFire community.
