eduFire Town Hall Roundup, November 17, 2008
Posted on 17. Nov, 2008 by Koichi in New Features, eduFire News

eduFire had it’s third Town Hall tonight. Thank you to everyone who attended! Besides enjoying Ron’s webcam (which can turn him into a dinosaur, a cat, and other things), we talked about a plethora of subjects, which will be relayed to you here!
eduFire “Groups”
Over the next week or two, a new social feature will appear on the site: Think Facebook Groups…but more, sophisticated (we hope!). Members of eduFire will be able to create and join groups, which will help users meet up with like-minded people (Soccer Moms for Spanish!). It’s just one more step towards making education a much more social experience! We look forward to seeing what kinds of groups you come up with, and how this new feature will be used to further your education (and not to mention your eduFire friendships!).
One-to-Many
If you haven’t taken part in one-to-many testing, you should do so ASAP! Sometime in the next month, tutors will be given the ability to charge for their lessons, so get in and “test” while you still can. Also, probably in January, we’ll be piloting a subscription model with Japanese and GMAT. We’ll talk more about that in the future, but for now, just know that it will be an amazing deal for both the student and the teacher!
How to Win a T-Shirt
The brand spankin’ new eduFire t-shirt was debuted today, and we’ll be offering you a bunch of ways to get your hands on one. Make sure you check the forums for contests and opportunities to contribute to eduFire! Here’s the most recent one: Come up with a codename for eduFire’s redesign. We’ll also be sending a couple t-shirts out to people who leave really great testimonials for us!
