Twitter Scholarship
eduFire is an online education company with a simple (but not easy) mission: Revolutionize education.
Our goal is to create an amazing platform to allow live learning to take place over the Internet, anytime from anywhere. Most importantly, we want to make this available to anybody. We’ve created something that is totally open and community-driven (rather than closed and transaction-driven). So, if you want to learn Japanese from someone in Japan, you can! On the other hand, if you want to teach English to someone in Japan, you also can. Anyone can join, set their price, and then share their genius. It’s amazing what you can teach and learn via the eduFire community.
The eduFire Twitter scholarship was created in order to push that goal further. Twitter is a great platform, and we think it’s one of those things that could change the way we do education, sometime down the road. We’d love to use this platform for you to submit your (incredibly mini) essay.
- Create a Twitter account (if you don’t have one already)
- Answer the question “How would I change education.” Be sure to include the hashtags #edufire #change at the end of your tweet so we can track scholarship submissions.
- Follow eduFire on Twitter so we can direct message the winner.
We know it’s going to be tricky getting everything you want to say in 140 characters or less, but that’s part of the challenge!
If you have any questions, please send us a message on Twitter, or e-mail us.
Scholarship Bullet-points:
- Name of the Award: Revolutionizing Education in 140 Characters or Less
- Deadline Date: September 20, 2009
- Value of the Award: $250

- Description: How would you change the education system? There are a ton of web services out there right now taking a few small steps, Twitter being one of them. We’d like you to Tweet how you would change education, all in 140 characters or less. In your tweet, you have to include the hashtags #edufire and #change (just add #edufire #change to the end of your tweet) so we can track your submissions. Also, please follow our Twitter account (@eduFire) so we can direct message the winner. Multiple submissions are okay, but only one tweet per day allowed (don’t be spammy!). The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges and paid $250 to go towards your education. Your Tweet will also be featured on our website www.edufire.com.
We look forward to reading all of your Tweets!
